"Since time is the one immaterial object which we cannot influence -- neither speed up nor slow down, add to nor diminish -- it is an imponderably valuable gift. Each of us has a few minutes a day or a few hours a week which we could donate to an old folks home or a children's hospital ward. The elderly whose pillows we plump or whose water pitchers we refill may or may not thank us for our gift, but the gift is upholding the foundation of the universe."
- Maya Angelou
After reading the quote above- I want you today to do something of value. Something nice. It might be a small thing like smiling at the person at the store behind the register. It might mean giving a compliment. ( you know those cost you nothing) Be kind to a stranger. Call your Mom. Give your spouse a kiss for no reason. E mail a friend and tell them you appreciate them. Play with your cat. Send a "just because" card to a friend. (not a birthday, or holiday- just because) Put coins in the donation box. Bring home a gift for your child for no reason. When you do something for someone else, something of value- your heart will be filled with the joy and the spirit of giving. Just to give. Decide today to just give.It will make you feel great about yourself. You will be " upholding the foundation of the universe."
